PRIVACY
Last updated October 20, 2026
Movie Horse is a game, not a data business. There are no accounts, no ads, and we never sell or share your information, except to ship a shirt you claim.
What stays on your device
Your daily game progress, your stats and streaks, the nickname you last used, and the list of challenges you've joined are saved in your browser. Clearing your browser's site data for moviehorsegame.com erases them.
What we store on our servers
- An anonymous player ID. A random code kept in a cookie so the game can recognize you in challenges. It isn't linked to your name or phone number, or to your email unless you sign up for email reminders.
- Challenge games. The nickname you choose and the moves in each game. Other players in that game can see your nickname.
- Daily results. For each daily Movie Chain: how far you got, letters, time, and the country you played from (never your city or exact location), tied only to the anonymous ID. We use these for overall counts, the “you beat X% of players” line, and your global rank. Rankings only show you your own place; nobody else can see your rank or results (except a featured Deepest Cut, below).
- Claimed screen name. If you claim a screen name after a 7-day streak, it shows next to you in challenge games. If your winning chain is picked as the day's Deepest Cut on our social posts, your screen name may appear with it.
- Notification settings, only if you turn notifications on: the address your browser gives us for sending them, and whether you want the nightly reminder.
Century Club shirt
If you win 100 dailies and claim the free shirt, we collect your name, shipping address, email and shirt size. We use them only to make and ship your shirt (sharing them with the company that prints and delivers it) and to email you tracking, then delete them once it's delivered.
Email reminders
If you ask for an email reminder, we keep your email address and the time you chose (when the new chain drops, or in the evening only if you haven't played yet). We use it only to send that one reminder a day, plus your restore code if you ever ask for it. We never sell it, share it, or send anything else. Every email has a one-tap unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes your address.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to see things like page visits, country, and device type, plus a few game events (for example, “finished the daily”). It doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you across other sites.
Services we use
The site runs on Vercel, game data is stored with Supabase, and movie data and images come from TMDB. Notifications are delivered by your browser's own push service (Apple, Google, or Mozilla). Reminder emails are sent through Resend. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
Save codes
If you ask for a save code, we keep a copy of your stats, challenge list and nickname with it (refreshed after each game) so the code can restore them on another phone or browser. Anyone with your code can restore your progress, so keep it to yourself.
Your choices
- Turn notifications off anytime in your phone or browser settings.
- Unsubscribe from email reminders with the link at the bottom of any reminder.
- Clear the site's data in your browser to remove what's stored on your device.
- To delete server data, email us with your game codes and we'll remove those games and their results.
Kids
Movie Horse isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
